At the foundation of my designs is a belief in the importance of touch. Not only as a design parameter but also as a fundamental need in the digital society we live in.

All my ceramics are rooted in an interest in how we can re-connect to our material environment in an overwhelmingly digital world. Surrounded by screens, displays and technology, people have never been more connected while at the same time feeling disconnected from their surroundings.

I am focused on creating sculptural ceramics centering the juxtaposition of tactility and technology. I use the traditional technique of coil building in one of the most modern ways in form of 3D clay printing. By exploring the interplay between the mechanical and clinical process of 3D printing and the warm malleability of soft clay, my intention is to forge a sensuous engagement between human, machine, and material.
